Welcome Message from our Headteacher

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit our new look website. 
We hope this gives you a flavour of life in our school.

Buckden CE Primary School is a vibrant and welcoming county primary school.  We pride ourselves on being a school that is at the heart of the local community, having strong links with our local parish church of St Mary's.  As a Church of England school we place an emphasis on the development of the whole child - both academically and spiritually. 

The school has a strong Christian ethos, underpinned by a core set of aims and values which were developed by our wider community.  Our ethos statement summises this: "The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice.  It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils."

Our school is continually striving to improve and 'do things better' and this was recognised by our most recent OfSTED in July 2009 which described us as 'a good school' with recognised outstanding behaviour and enjoyment of learning.  Over the last couple of years the school has been on journey to further enhance and continue this good work.  I am fortunate to have been a central part of this process initially as the schools Deputy Head teacher and now as your Headteacher.   We work effectively as a school within the 'Every Child Matters' framework ensuring your children are safe, healthy, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic well being.   Our primary focus in the coming months is to raise further standards whilst also endeavouring to provide a broader, stimulating and more engaging curriculum for everyone in our school. 

At this point in time our website is growing week by week, with new sections and resources added along the way.  If you have any comments or suggestions on how we could improve this resource (either communication or practical resources) please let us know your thoughts. 

We are a very open school and welcome visitors of all kinds, from parents and grandparents visiting for lunch, to colleagues from local schools working alongside us.  You are most welcome to come and visit our school and see for yourself the tremendously hardworking staff and pupils we have here.  We are a true TEAM, Together Everyone Achieving More!
