English: This week we have started reading our new class book. We made some arty predictions about what we thought was going to happen and what was missing from the first picture in the book.

Maths: We have continued to group this week, making sure that we make equal groups. Moving this onto making an array from these equal groups. We have also continued counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

Science: This week we have been plant crazy! We have set up an investigation to see what effects how plants grow. We are growing rocket in different conditions; growing in marshmallows, growing in sand, growing in the dark, watering with apple juice and watering with orange juice. We have also been looking at the different parts of a plant. This afternoon we went up onto the field to see the different types of plants and identify the different parts. Here are some of what we found;

Global Learning: We wanted to understand more about food wastage and what it means so we collected all of the waste from both our packed lunches and school dinners yesterday. Afterwards we sorted and counted what had been wasted and found out that more food was wasted by those that have packed lunches than those that have school dinners.
