In the eyes of God, every child matters, every moment of every day

Friday 11th June 2021

Your talk homework this week is to practise telling the time to the nearest fifteen minutes. Where does the minute hand point at o’clock, quarter past, half past and quarter to? See if you can spot these times throughout the weekend and explain how you know!

Well, we have had a super busy first week back! The children have come back from half term with their Year 3 hats on – they have been sitting, listening beautifully and working so hard to show us their understanding and we are so proud of how far they have come this year, they are really shining!

The children have been working super hard in all areas of our learning this week, where we have made our own clocks and been learning to tell the time to the nearest fifteen minutes. They grasped it so well, we are going to challenge them next week to have a go at telling the time to the nearest five minutes!

This week we have introduced the children to our now Power of Reading text, ‘The adventures of the Egg Box Dragon’ and the children have been predicting what adventures the dragon and his partner in crime, Emma, get up to in the light of the moon!

We have started our skills builder project this week, ‘Community Cafe’ and been looking at our three focus skills, teamwork, creativity and leadership – the children have been split into teams and we hope to design our own menu for a ‘café day’ later on in the half term in which we will be selling goods and spending money on each other’s products, we will update you as we go!

Have a wonderful weekend and stay safe in the sun!
