In the eyes of God, every child matters, every moment of every day

6th June 2025

Please read with your child a minimum of three times this week and log onto Boom Reader. It was Assessment Week in Phonics. All children have a copy of their Phonics Assessments report in their reading folder. Please spend some time on Doodle Maths.

This week we started our new topic, Around the World in 30 Days. We've started in the United Kingdom, exploring the poetry of Benjamin Zephaniah and writing our own class poem, celebrating our diverse interests and recognising that we're stronger together. In maths, we've been thinking about our spatial awareness and investigating shapes and how 2D shapes can be put together to create new shapes. In RE, we're starting to look at our wonderful world and how we can look after it and in PSHE we're learning to identify how we feel and how others feel, too. In science, we thought about how to make a boat for a Jelly Baby to safely travel across the ocean and we used our junk modelling materials to construct a boat, which we then tested in the safety of our Reception playground.

Have a lovely weekend!
