In the eyes of God, every child matters, every moment of every day

Friday 26th March 2021

There is no talk homework for the Easter Holidays!

There will be a change to PE days for Year 2 after Easter - please send your child into school in their PE kits on Mondays and Wednesdays.

We have had a super busy week this week and the children have continued to wow me with their hard work.

In English the children have spent three days writing their beginning, middle and end to their stories in which they had to trap and defeat an evil witch - the children had some fantastic ideas for their characters, plots and settings and I am so impressed with their final pieces of writing considering they have been away from school for such a while!

In Maths, the children have continued to develop their arithmetic skills including adding and subtracting two digit numbers - they've remembered lots of their learning from the Autumn Term and have chosen a method that they are confident to use to show me their working out!

We've had some very busy and exciting afternoons this week planning, designing and creating our very own 'Dream Space' in our Skills Builder Project this week. The children got into teams and had to decide on a theme for their 'Dream Bedroom' - we had some fantastic ideas including Under the Sea, Dinosaurs, Space and even Harry Potter! The children developed their Creativity, Staying Positive and Aiming High skills in this project, by thinking about how they worked with their team and considering others thoughts and feelings throughout the project.

The children have worked so hard this term despite very different, and at times, difficult circumstances. We are so proud of their resilience and enthusiasm throughout, and are so glad that they are back with us in school again.

Have a wonderful, restful Easter break and we look forward to being together again for the final push in the Summer Term.

Stay safe and best wishes,
Miss Freeman
