Friday 11th June
Talk Homework: Finish making your paper clock at home (just like you made one in school). You will need to cut your hour and minute hands and attach them with the split pin. Then add on the second set of numbers 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 etc to show the number of minutes in each interval. Now practise using it to tell the time quarter to and quarter past. If you can already do this try to tell the time to the nearest 5 minutes.
This week in our celebration assembly we thought very carefully about the skills that we have used this week at school. Sonny used his listening very well when we listened to the first part of our new book. He had to listen carefully because he then predicted what was going to happen to Egg Box Dragon when he was put to bed under the light of the moon. As part of our Skills Builder project that we started this week, Reenie had to use her imagination and creativity skills to do a role play and pretend she was working in a cafe, it was fun. Freddie enjoyed using his excellent teamwork skills when we were put into new teams for our skills builder project. Also in our skills builder lesson Dylan practised his speaking skills and was very good at not speaking over other people. In maths this week Sofia has definitely used her problem solving skills to work out how to make and use clocks to tell the time to quarter to and quarter past the hour. In Scarlett's team they really showed good leadership skills when they decided who was going to go first. They made their choices by thinking about who was the oldest to make it fair. Claire said that in her group when they were miming she didn't have time to have a turn but she Stayed Positive by reminding herself that next time she would get a go. Lucas has been using his Aiming High skills by making sure he has had his hand up a lot and contributing to discussions whenever he can.
Have a lovely weekend
