Week beg 6th May
Please practise your lines for the play - first performance is Friday
This week we've been hard at work with play practice, and it's slowly coming together. Some pupils have been working incredibly hard at learning their lines, lyrics and dance moves - with our first performance this Friday, then Monday/Tuesday, we ask parents to continue to support us and their children with learning their lines so they feel confident.
In Geography, we've learnt about the importance of longitude and latitude lines for not just identifying locations, but for identifying climate regions and what this means for the growth of certain foods.
In Art, all pupils have now created their vessels from clay, and they're ready to go into the kiln. Next week, we hope to glaze them and, finally, have them fired to see if they can hold water.
In English, as well as developing our Oracy skills for the play, we have begun writing our own propaganda leaflets to educate WW2 families about the importance of rationing. It's been quite a challenge for some pupils to change their perspective and use formal language, but they're on their way. Our SPAG focus for this piece is colons.
Please practise your spellings for Monday's quiz - remembering to use the homophones in context to be able to identify their meaning.
Homework club is on a Wednesday for those who do not hand in their homework, but it's also there to support those who wish to get their homework done in school with teacher support.
Enjoy the sun!
