Our First Half Term

Our first half term in Year 5.

There is so much to say about our first half term in Year 5. Everyone has settled in brilliantly and is working so hard.

I asked the class about their personal highlights for this half term and this is what they said

I have enjoyed writing my story in English and playing rounders in PE. I was good at hitting the ball (Elizabeth)

I have enjoyed reading the book 'There's a boy in the Girl's Bathroom' in English and some of the activities like acting out the scenes (Darcey)

I enjoyed making the my powerpoint and Kenyan and English schools. We included some great pictures and even added in a quiz (Valarie)

We all enjoyed making our collages. We had fun collecting materials and experimenting with what to use where on our pictures (Summer, James, Ana, Leyla)

This week we have enjoyed being able to create our own planets that could be part of our solar system (Ben and Sebastian)

We all enjoyed creating fact files about our solar system. We were allowed to choose a particular part of our solar system to research and create fact pages about (Seb, Jonathan and Jacob)

My favourite thing this half term was learning about the different phases of the moon, especially as we used biscuits to help us understand the different shapes (Sofia)

This half term we have been learning to play full games of rounders with Miss Lizell and have been able to improve our battling and fielding skills. This ended with us competing in an interhouse rounders tournament on Monday (Noah, Fin, Freya, Maisie, Charlie, Bella)
