Talk Homework: Can you research some facts about giraffes? We are going to share these next week to help us write a non-fiction text about them.

Spellings: hopping, sitting, running, wrapping, dropping

Welcome to Summer term!

This week has been great! In science, we have been learning about plants. We have dissected tomatoes and replanted their seeds. We are going to do a comparative investigation between these and shop-bought tomato seeds. We are also observing the growth of a runner bean seed and have begun our bean diary- we can't wait to update you on their progress! In PE, we have been practising our long jump skills and sack racing. Also, we have started our new dance unit- this week we have been representing colours and emotions through dance. In English, we have been introduced to our new book Zeraffa Giraffa- we have made predictions and compared images in the text. We then formed successful sentences using the correct punctuation and conjunctions accurately. In Maths, we have started our unit on capacity and mass- we have been reading scales of different kins, for example, thermometers, rulers, measuring jugs, etc. We also calculated the missing intervals on scales.

Today is Earth Day- we are celebrating how amazing our planet is and how we can invest in our planet. We know that we can do many things to look after what we have such as: picking up litter, recycling, turning off taps, turning off devices when not in use, using eco-friendly products, eating locally produced food, using natural light... ask us if we can name some more!

Have a great weekend!
