Pupil Premium

Our School Vision is that:

Our Vision

Every child is loved by God and is educated for wisdom, aspiration and global citizenship, to thrive in our community through a culture of dignity and respect.  Their gifts, talents and wellness are cultivated with knowledge and skills to live life purposefully in all its fullness. In faith we ‘act’ ‘For nothing will be impossible with God’. Luke 1:37

As a school we recognise our obligation to narrow the gaps for our disadvantage pupils and this policy sets out to explain our plan on how we address any gaps identified so that all children ‘thrive in our community’.

Pupil Premium is additional funding which is allocated to schools on the basis of the number of pupils who have been eligible for free school meals (FSM) at any point over the last six years (known as ‘Ever 6 FSM’). The Pupil Premium is aimed at addressing the current underlying inequalities which exist between children from disadvantaged backgrounds and their more affluent peers. The Pupil Premium also provides funding for children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months and the children of service personnel. Pupil Premium was initially introduced in April 2011. Children of service personnel receive a lower amount of £340.

In addition, Post-Covid 19 the school has received additional funding through the School-led Tutoring Grant for 2021/22, which is accounted in the Pupil Premium Strategy Grant. The government has announced that this funding will be available for the following 2 years to aid with catch-up.
