Friday 10th October 2025

Please ensure that you are logging all reading with your child on Boomreader, if there are any words or sounds they struggle with add these so we can help them within their learning.

Please ensure that your child does their Doodlemaths, an assignment will be added every Friday for them to complete, we are able to analyse any gaps they have and address this within our learning.

We have some spellings to support their phonics learning, we are currently looking at the 'ou' sound. Please practice these over the weekend for an informal test next week.

toy, boy, ploy, enjoy, toyshop

Boy and his toy.

The children have worked really hard this week throughout all of their learning. they have particularly enjoyed their maths where we have been looking at counting in 10s to 100. The children have worked so hard in understanding the the order in which we count and have been great at spotting any mistakes we made (on purpose) to enhance their learning.

Within our English we have said our farewell to Beegu and it was fair to say the children were really happy with how the story ended. This week they have been working on handwriting and dictation. The dictation has been hard but I must say they have shown great determination and resilience during their learning.

Our phonics sound for the week has been 'oy', please see above for their spellings.

Within our RE learning we have explored a few parables and broken them down to understand what the messages of each are. The children have used brilliant words to describe God within our learning such as 'mighty', 'forever' and 'forgivness'.

Within their indoor PE the children have been looking at gymnastics and balance. They have focused on movement and how to ensure they are balanced. We looked at 3 different types of jumps and 2 rolls on the mats which they have worked very hard in executing.

Have a great weekend!
