This week in English we have started to learn about our new book called The Tin Forest. We have already met the main character and explored his appearance and personality. In P.E. we are learning to play cricket in small groups. We have focussed on learning to bowl the ball underarm. We swing back our arm that we use to write with, keeping our arm straight, we launch the ball forcefully and accurately. In art/science we have used everything we have learned about shading, tone and value in year 3 to sketch a 3D image of an apple and snail shell. Using a torch, we explored how a shadow forms and why. We have enjoyed telling the time in both analogue and digital forms in maths. This week, in geography, we considered the pros and cons of fracking. Did you know fracking could produce enough energy for 100 years? However, it can cause land tremors, earthquakes and even sinkholes!

Have a great weekend and enjoy the sunshine!
