Spellings: adorably, horribly, miserably, probably, terribly, comfortably, sensibly.

Please complete 10 mins of Doodle Maths per day. Your child will have been assigned tasks that are relevant to the curriculum, so it is important for them to have the chance to consolidate their knowledge.

Reading: Please ensure that your children are reading books at their own level and make sure they are ready to complete an AR assessment.

This week has been a particularly productive and enjoyable one for the children.

They showcased their developing writing skills through two substantial pieces: a diary entry and a formal letter to Birdman. After analysing high quality exemplar texts, the children identified key features such as emotive language, varied sentence structures and clear organisational devices. They then applied these techniques with confidence, producing thoughtful, imaginative and technically accurate writing from a range of perspectives.

We were also fortunate to welcome a visiting speaker who delivered an engaging session on Hinduism. The children listened with great interest as they learnt more about core beliefs, important deities and major festivals such as Diwali and Holi. This talk helped them consolidate their understanding of the unit and make meaningful connections to their classroom learning. We are extremely grateful for your continued support and for returning to speak to the children for the third consecutive year.

In PE, the children throw themselves into their hockey sessions with enthusiasm. They have been developing their ability to dribble with control, weaving the ball around a more challenging obstacle course, and refining their shooting accuracy in preparation for games. Their teamwork, focus and determination have been wonderful to see.
