Welcome back from a relaxing (hopefully) two weeks. We've started our new half term topic: Down at the Bottom on the Garden. We've explored minibeasts and what we know about the already in Science. In English we read the book Give Us a Smile, Cinderella and used that to learn to write instructions. We wrote instructions to brush our teeth. We also read the book Bog Baby, and used an illustration from the book to inspire us to make Monet Waterlilies paintings. We also learned about Monet. In maths, we've been learning to count past 10 up to 20! We've practised counting different objects and we've had to teach our class puppets how to count because they weren't very good at it. Half-termly Reading Assessments for all the children have gone home today. If you have any questions about the assessment results, please contact your child's class teacher. In PE, we're learning chase games and how to safely run within a space. Please make sure your child has trackie bottoms and a sweatshirt as well as shorts and T-shirts and trainers, so that they are comfortable no matter what the weather, as PE is outdoors this term.
