Spellings: fascinated, descending, centre, convinced, scenery, muscles, embarrassing.

Doodle Maths: Please ensure that you are completing 10 mins of Doodle maths per day.

Reading: Let your child read to you for 15 mins per day.

This week, the children have been learning about time, focusing on reading time to the nearest second, minute, and hour. During today’s practical lesson, they estimated and timed themselves completing a range of activities, including hooping, running the length of the playground, and skipping. The children have also learnt about Roman numerals and developed their understanding of the difference between a.m. and p.m. I am extremely proud of the progress they have made.

Finn particularly enjoyed sports this week. He especially liked the shuttle runs in athletics, and the children took part in some excellent games of rounders. They demonstrated a growing understanding of batting, fielding, and getting players out. The girls were delighted with their victory over the boys during one of the games. There was some wonderful sportsmanship on display, and it was lovely to enjoy sport outdoors in the sunshine.

In art, we have been planning our Fairtrade collages inspired by the work of Camilla Ru. The children have each selected a Fairtrade item, and their designs include creative elements such as 3D cocoa beans, banana chains, and Fairtrade footballs. If anyone has any old travel or suitable magazines that they would be willing to donate, we would be very grateful if these could be brought in by Wednesday to support our artwork.

We hope you have a very enjoyable bank holiday.
