Homework - Read Big Cat reading book at least 3 times and record on Boom Reader.
A big thank you to all the adults who accompanied us on our village walk. It was lovely listening to the different discussions and the children thoroughly enjoyed it. We then built our model village using junk modelling materials. The children had a wonderful time using their cutting, sticking and colouring skills to create their version of Buckden.
This week was assessment week, so phonics was a review week, focusing on specific phonemes/graphemes the children found tricky. Your child's class teacher will discuss the assessments in more detail on Parents' Evening after half term.
In maths we have continued to practise subitising and recognising numbers without having to count. We ask the children, "What do you see? How do you see it?"
We finished our Shapes unit of gymnastics, with the children creating their own sequences, using the shapes they have learned. They worked hard and produced some lovely results!
We continued our learning about the human body by creating skeletons out of cotton buds and we completed our RE learning about why the word God is important to Christians and our PSHE unit Celebrating Me.
Have a wonderful half term! We'll see you in November!
