Doodle maths 10 mins three times a week

We have had a really great week and have continued to read about Jim Jarvis's adventures in Street Child. We have had some thoughtful discussions about how he felt when he managed to escape from the workhouse. Ideas varied from how relieved he might feel to no longer have to suffer at the hands of the cruel people in the workhouse, to how scared he might feel to be back out in the world without his family around him. We collectively, can't wait to read chapter 9 to find out what happens next. In maths, we have really strengthened our multiplication skills and today multiplied two 2-digit numbers using an expanded method which we will build on next week, progressing to a compact method. In Geography, we learnt about the impact of coal mining on people and the environment in the industrial revolution. This afternoon we had another really in-depth discussion considering what makes reactions reversible or irreversible in science. The more we discussed the more examples the children thought of to show their true understanding.

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the Christmas Light switch on
