Spellings: effect, affect, whose, who's, seen, scene, hear, here, heal, heel. Please put these spellings in correctly punctuated complex sentences using subordinate conjunctions for SPAG homework. All pupils should engage with DoodleMath assignments and be in the green zone by next Friday. Daily reading please.
This week we began relating ourselves to our book's character, Joseph, who is having a difficult time at school in preparation for us writing an emotive diary entry. In Math, we've started looking at scaling measurements (decimals and fractions). We also introduced the children to drawing and reading angles using a protractor.
Next week, all students will be making their tote bags. Milligan began Friday and Wordsworth will begin next week, so please bring in a t-shirt to cut/sew. When Milligan practised stitches, it became apparent that they'd forgotten how to thread a needle, tie a knot and do blanket stitch. We spent some time reviewing this prior learning, along with running stitch and backstitch. It would help immensely if you could practise the skill of threading a needle and tying a knot in the thread at home so that we can progress them further during the lesson.
