Homework: Doodle Math Assignment and Doodle Math/Tables practice, spelling practice and SPAG homework. Our spellings are Yr5 common exceptions words: community, achieve, apparent, bargain, bruise, mischievous, muscle, necessary, vehicle, system

We've been focused on converting measurements this week in Math, looking at the trickier metric to imperial conversions. We have also published our diary entry linked to Joseph's first day at school and we're truly impressed by the insightful and wonderful emotion they've put into them, showing how far some have come in our journey to develop empathy.

We've also finished our DT projects and many were very successful at creating bags that can hold a water bottle. We will be adding a design to the bags in the coming weeks, too, for art.

Next week, we'll be continuing with reciprocal reading of our class book. We'll move on to geometry in Math, batik design in art, coding games in computing and – of course – Sports Day on Friday afternoon.

Can I urge all pupils to come to school with water bottles as many did not last week. There will be the rule of no water bottle; no football, to keep the children safe in the heat at lunchtime.

Message from Miss Phelps: "Thank you all for your lovely notes and gifts. It's been a pleasure helping to teach you. Wishing you all the best for the rest of Year 5 and Year 6."

    Enjoy your weekend
