Please complete 30 minutes of Doodlemaths and practise your spellings: advice, advise, prophesy, prophecy, licence, license, practice, practise, device, devise. It's important to continue to learn these within the context of a sentence to be able to identify them as verbs or nouns in order to choose the correct homophone spelling on Tuesday.

This week, Year 5 have been delving into why Britain declared war on Germany in 1939 and explored life during the Blitz via our English text. Pupils have been developing vivid setting descriptions of London. We'll be doing much more learning about Dig for Victory and rationing next week to link in with VE celebrations on Thursday as children dress in non-school uniform and wear red, white and blue.

In Art, they've also begun to design their clay vessels inspired by Clarice Cliff and Magdaline Odundo, which they'll be constructing in a couple of weeks. In Science, we're beginning to look at lifecycles beginning with comparing mammals and birds.

Enjoy your bank holiday weekend and see you on Tuesday. Good luck to those off to Butlins for their rugby tournament.
