Easter Holidays!
Some ideas for activities this week....
Today has been very strange, for everyone I expect. We are all now getting used to a new routine and hoping to continue learning, however that may be.
I will update this every week with some new tasks.
This week we've enjoyed starting our new book Zeraffa Giraffa.
We really enjoyed drawing our pictures of a giraffe in their natural habitat.
We've enjoyed reading a book in Global Learning called There's A Boy Just Like Me.
We enjoyed our For and Against discussion in English.
In Maths we've enjoyed learning about halves and quarters.
Some of us enjoyed our handwriting practice of the alphabet.
We've enjoyed making our fact sheets about clean water. We really enjoyed making the flaps and sliders.
We've enjoyed writing our hedgehog story for the 500 word competition. We also enjoyed making the cartoon strip for it.
In maths we have been learning about addition and division (grouping and sharing).
We also enjoyed interhouse this week!
We are looking forward to Koinonia Friday and getting to show our work to our parents.
We are also excited for half term and what we learn about afterwards.
We enjoyed going on our school trip to Grafham Water. We learnt loads of facts about it. We learnt things like eels and shrimps live in Grafham Water. We had clip boards at the dam to draw what we could see.
I enjoyed doing maths. We have been doing multiplication by repeated addition on a number line and grouping.
I enjoyed English, writing what we did at Grafham Water.
I enjoyed doing times tables this week.
I have enjoyed RE and learning a bit about Arabic.
We have enjoyed mind-up.
We have been tasting different types of water. We made a tally and pictogram when we did it.
We have been reading a bit of our new book called ‘The Yucky Duck Rescue’. We’ve been looking at different types of ducks and we wrote some sentence about the pictures of the ducks.
We’ve been learning about different types of water and sewer systems. We’ve been learning about toilets, poo and wee.
In reading we’ve been learning about a poem called ‘My Teacher Ate My Homework’. We’ve been learning the verses.
With Mrs Dunford we looked at how we can water plants without us needing to be there.
In English we have written our newspapers.
When we were with Mrs Dunford we were reusing things that you put in food waste. There was a man who showed us lots of different things to do with them. For example, the ends of an onion can be planted to grow new onions, with leaks the white bit can be put in compost to regrow leaks, the top of a carrot can be chopped off to regrow carrot leaves and eventually the carrot.
We have been making our Christmas hats. We all liked decorating them too.
In maths we've been doing some take away and addition using big jumps and small jumps on a number line.
On Monday we did an English book quiz and we had to read a story from non-fiction, a fiction text and a poem. We had to answer different questions on each one.
In Global Learning we've learnt about Police, and we wondered what they did in the daytime and the nighttime.
We have really enjoyed practicing the play.
We have enjoyed our learning in maths. We have been doing some maths quizzes and practicing our times tables.
We are enjoying our Green Day today. We really enjoyed planting and looking at our tree.
We've enjoyed writing newspapers in English for the Lonely Beast.
We really enjoyed playing games of football in PE.
In PE we’ve been learning about passing and throwing the ball in.
We’ve really enjoyed making our pizzas.
In English we’ve been making a newspaper about robbers. We’ve also taken two words and shortened them with an apostrophe, e.g. I am into I’m.
We’ve been learning about shapes in maths. We’ve been seeing if lines are the same by folding the shape to the line and seeing if they are the same.
In reading we have started a new book called the Christmasaurus.
We’ve been practicing our dances and songs for the play.
We've been rehursing our Christmas play and we practiced some dances and songs.
In English we've been looking at newspapers. Yesterday we were practicing how to write our newspaper and what it needs in it.
In global learning we had two toys on each table and we made a passport for them. We wrote their description, their name, how old they are and their family.
In maths we have been practicing taking away on number lines, with some addition.
In PE we have been practicing throwing.
In reading we started a new book and it's called Cops and Robbers. Also we've been labeling pictures with what they are like.
