*Learn any lines given for the school Nativity play and organise any costumes if needed. Your children may be able to sing some of the songs for you.
*Home reading 3 times per week. For the next fortnight, it may be that your child isn't heard by the teacher as often due to our nativity rehearsal and performance schedule. Thanks for understanding.

Talking Homework:
*Talk to your children about how you celebrate special holidays in your family and which holidays are special. What are your favourite memories of the holiday? What are traditional foods you eat? Do you have special decorations?
*Encourage your children to write some CVC words, for example, cat, dog, get, net, mat, run, pop.

Talk Homework:
*Talk to your child about how to cross the road safely with an adult and ways they can be safe on their bike and/or scooter (for example, wearing a helmet). Tier 1: safe, crossing, pavement Tier 2: vehicle, zebra crossing Tier 3: pedestrian
*Talk to your child about signs you notice (and their meanings) on the journey to and from school.
*Help your child choose fancy dress to wear on Friday for Children in Need and discuss why they are doing it. Remember, you don't need to purchase anything new -- recycling is a great way to make a costume.
Talk Homework: Ask your child what they remember about Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot.

Read at least 3 times per week.
Half term Homework:
* Please help your child to practise writing their name. A handwriting sheet with their name in the school handwriting style was sent home with their reading folders.
* Please help your child learn to dress and undress themselves, including doing buttons and zipping up their coats.
*Continue to read a minimum of three times per week and please write in the Reading Record when you have done this.

- Talk with your child about their local area, including features, significant buildings, street names, etc.

Talk to your child about teeth.
Tier 1 vocabulary: tooth, gum, brushing, toothpaste
Tier 2 vocabulary: bacteria, fillings, hygiene
Tier 3 vocabulary: incisor, molar, canine, decay
Read at least 3 times per week and remember to write your comments in the reading.
Talk homework:
Help your child learn their surname, parents' first names and, if they can manage it, their address.
Reading:
Ensure that you read with your child at least three times a week and record this in the Reading Record.
Homework -Hear your child "read" their lilac book at least 3 times a week. Please remember to write your comments in the Reading Log. The log will be checked on a Monday and books changed every Monday and Thursday. For guidance on how to support your child's story telling, see the previous blog post.
