Welcome back and Happy New Year! Thank you to all of our parents and children for the thoughtful gifts and cards -- all of us had a restful holiday and we hope you did, too! The children have returned to school beautifully, and it's been lovely watching them reunite with their classmates and friends and hearing about their holiday adventures. In phonics we have learnt three new digraphs and we started reading A Trip on the Tram. In maths, we have been reviewing subitising and one more and one less and practising using different manipulatives, such as five frames and our fingers, to help us solve problems. We started our new topic, Once Upon A Time, and we learnt about the life of the animator Lotte Reiniger and we looked carefully at her artwork and thought about how she created it. We went for a Winter Walk at the beginning of the week and looked for signs of winter, using all of our senses. The snow certainly helped! Have a lovely weekend!
