Happy Birthday David Attenborough!!!!!
This week the children have been inspired by their trip to Paxton Pits and learning about animal habitats, to create their own habitats within shoe boxes. We have learnt today all about the inspirational man, David Attenborough. We made a timeline of his life events and read a biography about him.
In phonics, we have learnt the digraph 'ow' and the tricky words 'some' and 'come'. The children are writing sentences which include the sound of the week and they are becoming so much more independent in this.
In maths, we have been using positional vocabulary. We made treasure maps and followed instructions to add stickers with pirate ships, ship wreck and shark on in the correct place. We then hid birds and had to explain to our partner where they were located so they could hunt them out. We even did the Cha Cha Slide!
For English, we read the story 'Arghh Spider' and have then had a go at writing our own sentences using the repeated phrases in the story.
