Please ensure that you are logging all reading with your child on Boomreader, if there are any words or sounds they struggle with add these so we can help them within their learning.
Please ensure that your child does their Doodlemaths, an assignment will be added every Friday for them to complete, we are able to analyse any gaps they have and address this within our learning.
We have some spellings to support their phonics learning, we are currently looking at the 'ou' sound. Please practice these over the weekend for an informal test next week.

Welcome to Year 1! Our weekly blog is now up and running.
This week the children thoroughly enjoyed looking at Beegu and what has happened so far. They have been very concerned that Beegu has crash landed on our planet and is lonely. They created a friend for our little alien and wrote some beautiful sentences.
Within our phonics learning with have been looking at the 'ou' sound.
Our maths has been focused on looking at ordering numbers to 10 and understanding the words 'fewer' and 'more' They have worked hard during their maths. We have been working on their number formation - if you would like a task at home this will help to support their learning.
Our global learning SDG for the term is 'Quality Education'. We have discussed what schools were like in the Victorian age and they seem glad that they did not go to school then. In our geography, we have been looking maps and how they work, the children have understood what a key is and how to use them within basic maps. Science topic has been one of the children's favourites learning about our body and starting to learn about the 5 senses we have.
Please make sure your child has a water bottle, PE kit and coat at school.
