    Home Learning:

Please ensure that you are logging all reading with your child on Boomreader, if there are any words or sounds they struggle with add these so we can help them within their learning.

Please ensure that your child does 45 mins of Doodlemaths each week.  An assignment will be added every Friday for them to complete, we are able to analyse any gaps they have and address this within our learning.

We have some spellings to support their phonics learning, we are currently looking at the 'ew' sound. Please practice these over the weekend for an informal test next week...

    new, chew, stew, threw, chewed

    The jewel is new.

This week the children have been looking at the part part whole model and the bar model in maths and we are so impressed at how well they have picked this up. They had to use them to find missing parts and have also used them to problem solve within 5. Their resilience has been fantastic and they are using the manipulatives really well to help them if they need it.

In English we are continuing to read ‘Look Up’. The children had a ‘press conference’ at the start of the week and got to ask Rocket some questions. They have then been writing lists to help people know what they need to bring and what they need to do to be able to see the meteor shower.

In history the children have been looking at how roads have changed over time in Buckden and got the chance to help make a model of some muddy tracks with some horses and carriages.

In Science we have been looking at floating and sinking and did an experiment to see which objects in the classroom would float or sink. The children showed great scientific thinking and worked well together to carry out their experiments.
