    Home Learning

    Please ensure that you are logging all reading with your child on Boomreader, if there are any words or sounds they struggle with add these so we can help them within their learning.

    Please ensure that your child does their Doodlemaths, an assignment will be added every Friday for them to complete, we are able to analyse any gaps they have and address this within our learning. 

    We have some spellings to support their phonics learning, we are currently looking at the 'i-e' sound. Please practice these over the weekend for an informal test next week.

    Happy New Year and welcome back!

    We have had a nice busy start to term, within our phonics we have been looking at our split diagraph 'i-e'. The children are very happy they can use this to write the word crocodile. Within our shared reading we have looked at the book 'I am a caver' and the children really enjoyed this Non-Fiction text and have surprised many of us by being able to read some very hard words.

    Our English learning is starting off with a brand new book - but the name will rename a mystery. We have met our two characters and will be following them on a very exicitng journey as Anna wants to find some gold.

    Within maths we have moved onto subtraction, the children have worked very hard and understand the relationship between the whole - part = part. They have used a tens frame, part whole model and bar model to support their understanding and have really grasped the concept well.

    Our global learning is moving onto the SDG life below water. Within our history we are looking at Dr Sylvia Earle and her fantastic discoveries but I think the favourite so far is our Geography learning, we will be looking at our Frozen Oceans, so far we have learnt about the similarities and differences between the Arctic and Antarctica.
