The children this week were introduced to the 500 word story competition set by the BBC. We will be writing stories next week and sending them home so that the children can enter if they wish to.

In history, we have continued to look at Ancient Greece and started to compare the similarities and differences between the education in the state cities of Sparta and Athens.

In geography we have looked at the topography of Greece. The children have drawn a detailed map with a key highlighting both the highlands and lowlands of Greece.

During netball we have started to play small games focusing on different passes and our footwork.

Reminders - It is the Harvest Festival in church on Monday. If anyone is able to bring in some non-perishable goods to donate, please send them in with the children on Monday morning.  Also, we are still looking for some parent helpers to come in and listen to the children read. If this is something that you are interested in please get in touch. Any time or day would be greatly appreciated.

    Spellings

Spellings this week focus on the double consonant.

biggest, runner, knitting, grabbed, slipper, skipped and dripping.

    Homework

Please try to doodle for at least 10 minutes per day to try to keep within the second green zone. There will be assignments set as well. These will need to be completed before any other doodling can be done.

There is also the doodle tables app for those who are not aware. The children can use the same login as their doodle maths.

Please continue to read with your child for at least 10 minutes per day.
