Spellings: amazement, punishment, movement, sadness, illness, enjoyment, gentleness.

Doodle Maths: 10 mins per day

Reading: Please read with your child and log on Boom Reader.

The children have had a great week. They have learnt about the four shading techniques, hatching, cross-hatching, scribbling and scribbling. They started to plan their Greek amphora designs, in which they will use their new skills.

We are reading The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. The children love the text so far and have made their predictions for the story. They have learnt about adjectives and used them in quality sentences. Today, they went outside and used chalk to mark make, showing the size of The Iron Man and thinking about scale and dimension. Back in the classroom, the children wrote about the size and shape of the man's body.

The Eco-team have an exciting mission, and your superpowers are needed—starting with our first challenge: Cut the Carbon! This November, we’re on a mission to shrink our carbon footprints and make a real impact. Each week, our Eco-Warriors will be tracking progress and cheering you on.  There are six suggestions to help us cut carbon:

    • Eat a plant-based meal
    • Leave the car at home and walk or cycle instead
    • Meal plan to reduce food waste
    • Lower your washing machine temperature to 30°C or lower
    • Have a device-free day
    • Turn down the heating by 1° for a week
