We have had an excellent first week back.
In maths, we have been learning how to calculate the sum using column addition. The children found this tricky at first, but now they can exchange. They make sure they carry over and add up each column.
In English, we have started our new book named Lob by Linda Newbury. The children have been predicting the outcome of the story. We visited the pond for some nature inspiration, and we have been writing poetry which will be appearing in a Year 3 anthology. The children's work sent shivers down our spines with the beauty of the personification and assonance.
The children have started their athletics sports module. They have been learning how to throw the shot-put and javelin. The children's throwing has been commendable. They practised, throwing, catching and bowling the ball and also how to hold a bat.
Have a great weekend!
